RAGI LADOO | JAYASHREE RECIPES
Ragi ladoo are delicious, healthy and nutritious sweet made with ragi flour, jaggery and nuts. Ragi is also known as finger millet or red millet or nachni in most Indian languages. RECIPE FOR RAGI LADOO

INGREDIENTS
- 2 tsp ghee
- 2 tbsp cashews - chopped
- 1 cup ragi flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup jaggery - grated
- 1/8 tsp cardamom powder
METHOD
- heat a tsp of ghee in a pan
- roast the cashews and keep it aside
- heat a tsp of ghee in the same pan
- add ragi flour
- roast the flour in low flame for 5-7 minutes or roast until the color changes and you will get a nice aroma from the ragi flour, keep it aside
- bring water to boil in a small pot
- add grated jaggery
- mix well till the jaggery melts completely
- once the jaggery is melted, switch off the flame
- cool down to room temperature
- add roasted cashew nuts and cardamom powder in to the flour
- strain the jaggery syrup (to remove any impurities) and add into the flour
- mix well with the spatula and make like a dough
- grease hand with a tsp of ghee
- take a small portion from the dough and make small balls
- make ladoo like this way with all of the dough
- healthy ragi ladoo ready
- store the ragi ladoos in an airtight container

NOTES
- ragi has to be roasted nicely in low flame to get rid off its raw smell
- you can choose any nuts of your choice, almonds, cashews or walnuts
- if you are allergic to nuts, no need to add, make simple ragi ladoo
- filter the jaggery syrup to remove any impurities
