POMFRET FISH FRY | JAYASHREE RECIPES
A quick and easy Indian fish fry, Pomfret fish fry, which is so tasty and delicious and is ready within minutes. Pomfret fish is an excellent source of proteins and omega-3 fatty acids which helps in development of brain, eyesight, healthy hair and skin. It also has a great source of calcium, vitamin A, D and B vitamins. This fish fry can be prepared at home under 30 minutes. It goes well with sambar rice, rasam rice. RECIPE FOR POMFRET FISH FRY

INGREDIENTS
- 7 byadagi chillies
- 1 tsp black pepper corn
- 10 garlic
- 1 tbsp fried gram dal
- 1 spring curry leaves
- salt to taste
- 3 tbsp water
- pomfret fish (about 12 slices)
- 1/4 cup oil - for shallow fry
- 1 spring curry leaves - for garnish
- 2 slices of lemon - for garnish
- in a mixer grinder, add red chillies, pepper corn, curry leaves, fried gram dal and garlic
- grind to a smooth paste with little amount of water and set aside
- wash and clean the pomfret fish and then slice it if you need
- apply the masala paste all over the fish
- rest the marinated fish for 30 minutes or else place the fish in refrigerator for 15 minutes
- heat oil in a pan until really hot
- when the oil is hot, place the marinated fish pieces and fry for 2 minutes
- after 2 minutes flip over the fish to other side and cook for another 2 minutes
- remove from oil and drain the excess oil on paper towel
- in the same oil, fry the curry leaves and garnish over fried pomfret fish
- serve with sliced onion and lemon wedges
- serve hot
- if you are using whole pomfret fish, try to make gashes on both sides of the skin and then apply masala paste
- Refrigerate the marinated fish pieces for crispy texture
